With the airport referendum set for the November ballot, the Alliance in Support of Airport Progress in the 21st Century (ASAP 21) has announced meeting dates for a series of public forums designed to solicit feedback and public input about this critical issue. The forums, titled ?San Diego Speaks. We Listen,? will be held in each of the five county supervisorial districts, beginning with district 3 on June 8th, 7:00 pm at the Doubletree Resort in Rancho Penasquitos.

LISTENING TOUR SCHEDULE:
- June 8, (Thur), 7 to 9 p.m. Double Tree Resort, 14455 Penasquitos Dr. San Diego
- June 14 (Wed), 7 to 9 p.m. - Heartland Masonic Center, 695 Ballantyne St. El Cajon
- June 21 (Wed), 7 to 9 p.m. - San Marcos Community Center, 3 Civic Center Dr. San Marcos

?ASAP21 wants to hear feedback directly from the public,? said Dennis Burks, Chairman of ASAP21. ?These forums will be different than any other public meetings on this subject. We need to be listening to the people - it?s going to be their airport ? and that is what we intend to do through these forums.?

The public outreach program is independent of other forums that have been conducted by the San Diego Regional Airport Authority and other government agencies. ASAP21 is comprised of a large group of business and labor leaders, including BIOCOM/San Diego, Downtown San Diego Partnership, the San Diego-Imperial Counties Labor Council, San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation, the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce and the San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau, among others.

The program, consisting of up to five forums and one focus group, will conclude by the end of July and will be developed through partnerships with community, labor and business-based organizations in each region. Each meeting will include a presentation by ASAP21 and will feature an extensive ?Q & A? with the public surrounding the need for a new airport.
